Milwaukee will close all Milwaukee Public Schools and district offices on Friday, October 30, 2026, as the city hosts a downtown parade and Summerfest grounds rally to celebrate the Brewers winning their first World Series title in franchise history.
Milwaukee Public Schools and Wauwatosa Closures for the Championship Celebration
The championship victory has prompted local educational authorities to clear the calendar. Milwaukee Public Schools announced that all school sites and district offices will remain closed on Friday, with staff excused from reporting and no classes or before- and after-school activities taking place.
The district cancellation extends to Milwaukee Recreation programs, though high school postseason athletic events remain an exception. Involved staff and families will receive direct communication regarding those athletic schedules.
Nearby, the Wauwatosa School District also confirmed it will be closed for the day.
Parade Route and Timeline Through Downtown Milwaukee
The celebration on October 30, 2026, begins at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Vel R. Phillips Avenue/Fourth Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Traveling eastward along Wisconsin, the procession briefly shifts north for a single block before heading south down Jackson Street through the Third Ward and finally making its way toward the Summerfest Grounds.

Road closures for the parade begin at 7 a.m. Some have estimated that some 400,000 fans may head Downtown for the parade.
Maier Festival Park Rally and Amphitheater Access
When the parade reaches its destination at Henry Meier Festival Park, the gates will already be open. The venue opens to the general public at 8 a.m., offering live music, food and beverage offerings, screenings of Brewers films and live feeds of the parade.
All supporters can enter the general Maier Festival Park grounds completely free of charge until the area reaches its maximum capacity. However, fans wishing to secure seats inside the American Family Insurance Amphitheater for the rally speeches must acquire tickets. Season ticket-holders began their presale at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, with public sales opening at 2 p.m. the same day. Net proceeds from the amphitheater ticket sales will benefit Brewers Community Foundation.
Supporters lacking tickets will still be able to watch the rally speeches, as broadcasts will be shown across multiple video boards located throughout Maier Festival Park. The festivities as a whole end at 3 p.m.
Commemorative Merchandise and Historic Parades
Supporters looking for memorabilia can purchase exclusive championship merchandise available only during the Championship Celebration at Maier Festival Park. Courtesy of Associated Bank, the initial 50,000 attendees to arrive at the rally will be given a special, limited-edition championship rally towel.

While this marks the inaugural World Series victory for the franchise, it is not the first time a parade has been held for the Brewers. In 1982, the Brewers had a parade after losing the World Series, with some 100,000 people attending.
Road to the Championship and Community Volunteering
The team’s championship run concluded following a 4-1 victory in Game 5. Following the conclusion of Game Five of the 2026 World Series, William Contreras of the Milwaukee Brewers is presented with the Willie Mays World Series Most Valuable Player Award.
The Summerfest Grounds, in collaboration with Visit Milwaukee, sent out a call for volunteers. Individuals interested in handing out placards to fans lining the streets were directed to contact Taylor Trost, while those seeking general support roles with Summerfest Guest Services coordinated with Elizabeth Monteilh.
Supporters seeking further details on the festivities can check official team channels or the Brewers Team Store at American Family Field, which will open at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, and will operate exclusively out of the merchandise tent located in the 3rd base plaza.
