A sushi restaurant “Dave’s Sushi” (Dave’s Sushi) in Montana, USA, recently broke out a serious mass poisoning incident. So far, 2 people have died and more than 40 people have been poisoned. The victims all ate the sushi rolls of the restaurant, which contained Salmon and morel mushrooms, one of the victims died the day after eating the sushi. The store is currently closed.

Ventura passed out at home on the day of the meal and was taken to the hospital. She suffered cardiac arrest and organ failure, and finally died. Ventura’s husband will sue the restaurant.
After investigations by the US FDA and the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, the morel mushrooms served by the restaurant were grown in mainland China and shipped to multiple states through California distributors. There are currently no related outbreaks in other states. The restaurant, which closed on the 21st of last month after receiving multiple complaints of food poisoning from customers, will open later in May.
Dave Sushi said that many guests fell ill after eating on the 17th. They thought it might be a problem with the morel mushrooms wrapped in sushi.The Gallatin County Health Department stated that another 3 people had severe symptoms and had to be treated in the hospital, and the inspection on the 18th of last month also found that the restaurant had 4 violations
It is understood the cause of death is still being determined, and health officials have yet to make a definitive statement. Authorities said the restaurant has cooperated with the investigation and they have hired a health consultant to assess the outbreak.
