Seoul: A mother who molested her daughter was sentenced to six months in prison. The 50-year-old woman was sentenced by the Daejeon District Court in South Korea. The daughter filed a complaint after the mother’s harassment intensified over the phone and in person. The court found that between December 2021 and May 2022, the mother made 306 text messages and 111 calls to her daughter.
The messages were very casual like reading the Bible at first, but when her daughter did not respond to the messages, the mother’s style changed. He started sending insulting messages regarding his daughter’s sexual affairs. Also, the daughter’s complaint states that she used to follow her daughter secretly and sneak peeks at her house.
Then in June, the police issued a warning to the mother, but when she violated that too, the court took strict action. Along with the jail sentence, the court also ordered 40 hours of anti-stalking education. Offenders found guilty of stalking in South Korea can face up to three years in prison.
