According to the report delivered by the Pereira Metropolitan Police, in the midst of various control and prevention procedures against the sale and illegal use of gunpowder in Dosquebradas and La Virginia, more than 77 kilos of fireworks were found, between snakes, flyers, ballots and volcanoes; that would be traded illegally.
Colonel Javier Gallego, commander of the Pereira Metropolitan Police, points out that, “so far this year, we carried a total of 388 kilos of gunpowder, more than 70 subpoenas giving applicability of article 30, numeral 1, of the Code of Coexistence and Citizen Security”.
They reiterate that the responsibility, although it falls on the authorities, is mainly of the citizens who, without being experts, handle gunpowder and even more serious, sometimes they lead minors to use it, having unfortunate results for their lives.
They remember the importance of report in a timely manner to the authorities, on places or people that are distributing or commercializing this kind of explosive materialcommunicating with the 123 of the National Police.
