New Pelvic Floor Clinic Opens in Casalpusterlengo

The facility relies on non-invasive conservative treatments to restore compromised pelvic functions.

Expanding Specialized Pelvic Floor Services in Casalpusterlengo

The new Ambulatorio di Uro-riabilitazione brings specialized pelvic floor care directly to Casalpusterlengo, broadening regional healthcare offerings in the lower Lodi area. The facility is structured to treat women under the age of 75 alongside male patients experiencing urinary incontinence who require a targeted therapeutic regimen. By prioritizing conservative and non-invasive interventions, the clinic aims to rehabilitate compromised pelvic floor musculature without resorting to surgical procedures.

Ornella Restivo, primaria della Riabilitazione specialistica geriatrica della zona, described the clinic as an exclusive health innovation for the Lower Lodigiano territory. The launch represents a collaborative initiative spanning the rehabilitation departments of the Azienda Socio Sanitaria Territoriale (ASST) of Lodi. Silvia Mandrini, primaria dell’Alto Lodigiano, noted that the multidisciplinary teamwork successfully pooled professional expertise to benefit the wider community.

Casalpusterlengo Clinic Expands Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Services

Expanding the program into Casalpusterlengo required the acquisition of advanced electromedical devices and the assignment of specially trained clinical personnel. Postnatal care for women remains managed separately by obstetrics departments, keeping the new clinic focused strictly on general pelvic floor rehabilitation and male or pre-75 female incontinence cases.

Access to the new clinic requires a formal prescription issued by an ASST physiatrist. Alongside the Casalpusterlengo expansion, the regional healthcare upgrade encompasses the deployment of two newly appointed speech therapists and state-of-the-art electromedical machinery in Codogno to support magnetotherapy and electrical stimulation protocols. Nicoletta Serra, coordinator of the physiotherapists, confirmed the comprehensive modernization of the equipment.

Sustaining Patient Independence Across the Territory

Guido Grignaffini, general director of ASST, emphasized the broader societal objective behind the healthcare enhancements. Investing in local therapeutic infrastructure directly supports individual autonomy and elevates overall quality of life for residents throughout the territory.
