Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has installed a new 132 KV sub-station with a transmission capacity of 150 MW at Al Aweer and a 400 KV sub-station with a transmission capacity of 2000 MW at Jebel Ali. With this, the number of 400 KV substations in Dubai has increased to 27 and the number of 132 KV substations has increased to 333. Dewa has awarded contracts for 5 new substations in the populated areas of Wadi Al Amardi, Wadi Al Shabak, Nad Hessa, Al Khawaneej 2 and Al Aweer 1. Officials also informed that electricity can be delivered without loss of transmission in the emirate and uninterrupted supply of electricity.
