The cooperative will lose its bank title in mid-May. Via a commercial agreement, 25,000 of its customers have migrated to the Flemish savings bank VDK. NewB – which intends to recruit more people – will remain their contact.

NewB, new version, here we go: on April 1st, the cooperative, which briefly became a bank, moved into a bank branch of VDK, a small savings establishment, purely Flemish until now, but which wishes through this partnership gradually impose its presence in Brussels and Wallonia.
The commercial agreement between the two entities had already been announced: NewB failed last September to raise the funds (40 million euros) required by the National Bank of Belgium (BNB) to keep its young banking license (obtained in 2020 ), VDK then offered to take over its wallets.
