Noma Dumezweni joins “Murderbot”, future Apple TV+ series

Announced by Apple TV+ at the end of last year,“Murderbot” gained an addition to its cast. Its about Or Dumezwini, winner of two Olivier Awards and nominated for a Tony. David Dastmalchian (“Oppenheimer”) will also participate in the series. The production is based on the science fiction saga “The Murderbot Diaries”by the writer Martha Wells.

The plot revolves around Murderbot, a security android who is both terrified by human emotion and attracted to the vulnerability of the people he protects. His journey will involve the need to hide his autonomy to complete a dangerous mission, although his greatest desire is to be alone to watch futuristic soap operas as he seeks to understand his role in the universe.

The creation and direction of the series is Chris e Paul Weitz. In addition to them, the production team is made up of Wells, as consulting producer, Skarsgård, Andrew Miano, Keith Levine e David S. Goyer, as executive producers. According to Apple, ten episodes are scheduled for the adaptation of “Murderbot”. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios.
