The Executive Director of Indonesian Political Parameters (PPI), Adi Prayitno, is confident that the meeting between the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto and the General Chair of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri, will take place.
“I am one of those who honestly believe that Prabowo and Megawati’s meeting will take place. The Gerindra elite and PDIP elite have given a hard code. “Possibly this will be done after the Constitutional Court trial is over,” explained Adi to Media Indonesia, Monday (8/4).
“At the same time, Gerindra and PDIP elites both claim that there are no problems between them. “That there was competition between the two parties in the presidential election is a normal matter,” he said.
Adi said meetings between general leaders are commonplace in politics. At the PDIP level, said Adi, they admitted that they did not have any problems with Prabowo.
According to him, PDIP only has a serious problem with Jokowi who is seen as opposing and even eliminating their political power in the election.
The proof is that the PDIP’s base is all gone, Ganjar-Mahfud lost the PDIP vote share. Even in the legislative elections, PDIP decreased by 3 percent, Jokowi’s effect against PDIP. “This is what seems to mean that PDIP will never forgive Jokowi,” stressed Adi.

For PDIP, Adi said Jokowi no longer had space to communicate. Moreover, after the election was over, PDIP was battered by the effects of Jokowi leaving the PDIP ranks.

Adi admitted that many people hope that Prabowo will invite PDIP and the party with the bull logo to join.
