London (ots/PRNewswire) After the successful public launch of the world’s first digital human teacher in August 2023 The Otermans Institute (OI) has taken a bold step to transform the education landscape as its AI-driven teachers now teach a full 9-hour course in universities and institutions on four continents.

The AI teachers not only teach and test the learners but also create the course content. The new approach leads to a paradigm shift in the nature of teaching and learning.

Thanks to OIAI technology – the fine-tuned language model developed by the same organization – virtual and digital education can now overcome the limitations of traditional one-way teaching and become a dynamic, two-way conversation between students and their AI teachers.

The Arab American University (Palestine), Bahria University (Pakistan), Ibn Haldun University (Turkey), the Catholic University of East Africa (Kenya) and the Universidad de Las Américas (Chile) are the most recent pioneers join this educational revolution and thereby set a precedent for other institutions worldwide.

The founders of the Otermans Institute, Dr. Pauldy Otermans and Dev Aditya, said: “We will expand our AI-powered teaching capabilities to 40 universities by September 2024. We are also testing how OIAI can be embedded into existing digital learning platforms.”

With over 80% of students completing the OIAI course as of November 2023 and a 94% learner satisfaction rate, the impact of OIAI on digital education is promising.

Until now OI has supported more than 35,000 learners and worked with governments and UN organizations in 13 countries to provide training and education using AI technology and bring professional development skills to the most disadvantaged areas.

The Otermans Institute is currently using its AI teachers to provide support the Women in STEAM initiative in Kenya and Zambia. “Africa is hungry for new technologies and there is no reason why Africans should be left behind in this fast-paced 21st century economy. As the founder of the Women in STEAM initiative and in collaboration with the Otermans Institute, we have connected teachers and students with AI teachers and it has been a very rewarding experience. We look forward to encouraging even more African educators to engage with new technologies such as AI,” said Caroline Nyaga.

The digital human teachers developed by Otermans Institute have a human-like appearance and voice, allowing them to seamlessly interact with students through voice and text input. Co-founder Dev Aditya said, “By talking to students, our AI teachers can tailor their lessons to students’ individual needs by responding to questions in real time and providing personalized feedback.”
