PAOK Thessaloniki and Roma basketball players set an all-time scoring record in a EuroCup match, combining for a staggering 224 points in regulation to cap off a dramatic finish on their home court.
PAOK Thessaloniki and the Rome club wrote their names into EuroCup history on Tuesday night. The Greek team dramatically edged out their opponents at home 113–111, with both squads combining for 224 points in regulation to break the tournament’s previous scoring record.
Record-Breaking Scoring in Regulation
The previous EuroCup record belonged to the 2025–26 season, when Umana Reyer Venice defeated Neptūnas Klaipėda 118–103, totaling 221 points. Even earlier, a record was set in the 2012–13 season between Crvena Zvezda Belgrade and Dinamo Sassari with 220 points.
Ben Moore snatched the victory for the hosts. With 57 seconds remaining, Roma big man Kelly Olynyk had given the visitors a lead with a two-pointer (111–109), but PAOK answered with accurate shooting, and on the final possession, Moore drove to the basket and scored the game-winning points with just 0.9 seconds left. Prior to the decisive play, the American had tied the game at 111–111, finishing the contest with 13 points overall.

In this fast-paced game, both teams demonstrated exceptionally high shooting percentages. The Rome side made 24 of 32 two-pointers (75 percent), shot 40 percent from beyond the arc and 85 percent from the free-throw line, and dished out 26 assists, but it was not enough to secure the win. Andrea Trinchieri’s wards answered with a powerful barrage of three-pointers, hitting 45.7 percent of their long-range attempts (16/35).
Coach and Players React to Win
PAOK head coach A. Trinchieri made no secret of his emotions after the match and joked about the unusual flow of the encounter. The Greek basketball gods will visit me in my dream after a game with this many points scored,
the strategist noted, drawing attention to the fact that the team had to adapt and step out of their comfort zone as the match turned into an open shootout with minimal defense.

Standouts for the winners included Breein Tyree, who scored 27 points (shooting 4/7 on two-pointers, 6/11 on threes, and 1/2 on free throws) and grabbed 3 rebounds. Cedi Osman added 25 points, making all 12 of his free throw attempts (2/5 twos, 3/7 threes), along with 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Both PAOK players posted an efficiency rating of 24. Former Rytas Vilnius guard Marcus Foster tallied 20 points (2/2 twos, 4/7 threes, 4/5 free throws), dished out 4 assists, and recorded an efficiency rating of 20. Nick Calathes also made a solid contribution to the victory with 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists.
For the Rome team, Nico Mannion scored 18 points (4/7 twos, 1/4 threes, 7/10 free throws) and handed out 3 assists, while Marko Simonović put up 17 points in just over 13 minutes of action. Erik Stevenson showcased a highly versatile performance, tallying 16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and a team-high 28 efficiency rating. Gerald (Joel) Ayayi chipped in with the same number of points (16), and former long-time NBA player Kelly Olynyk recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Lithuanian Donatas Motiejūnas spent a mere 40 to 43 seconds on the floor during this historic match. In that brief span, he failed to score (missing his only two-point attempt, 0/1), grabbed 1 rebound, had a shot blocked, committed two fouls, and finished with a -3 efficiency rating.
