Pizza Hawaii is a classic of net outrage. Now a worthy successor comes into play, which causes emotions ranging from anger to disgust: Pasta Hawaii. That’s the recipe.

Feel free to try new recipes and are you enthusiastic about unusual combinations? Then you probably don’t understand the excitement that followed a new pasta recipe from England. Traditionalists, on the other hand, squirm with the creation that the British broadcaster BBC has published on its recipe page.

Pasta Hawaii with ham and pineapple causes a lot of disgust

Pasta Hawaii is touted there as a tasty dish that can be used to consume canned pineapple. The problem: Already Pizza Hawaii, i.e. a pizza topped with Cooked ham and pineapple, regularly sparks debates online and in real life – between the purists of Italian cuisine and the rest, who see things a little looser. Pineapple has no place on a pizza, or in savory dishes in general, and you wouldn’t find Pizza Hawaii at all in a real Italian pizzeria. The outrage is great and in the network discussions the representatives of the pro and contra camp are irreconcilable. Pizza Hawaii already disgusts you, then you should rather not look at this pizza variant. There is now a lot of hostility in the air at Pasta Hawaii as well, as shown below the BBC post:

“Totally wrong, on many levels…”, “That’s blasphemy.”, “Why do you always have to screw everything up?”, “It triggers war for us Italians.” belong together.” – The judgments of the Twitter community are devastating, almost no one leaves a good hair on this idiosyncratic creation, especially no users with Italian-sounding names. And how does the author of the recipe see it? “A family-friendly pasta recipe that makes the most of canned food. If your kids love Hawaiian pizza, this ham and pineapple pasta makes a great change for a quick weeknight dinner,” writes Lorna Cooper, probably having no idea what it would trigger as she wrote the article.
