Germany: Knäbel resigns from the board in Gelsenkirchen
Peter Knäbel, the former technical director of the Swiss Football Association, is not available for another term at Schalke. The 57-year-old joined the Gelsenkirchen club in April 2018 as director of youth and development. Three years later he was appointed to the board. Schalke, relegated again after last season and just a year after being promoted to the Bundesliga, is also struggling in the second highest division. The team from the Ruhr area is currently in third-to-last place in the rankings.
England: ManCity records record revenues
Triple champion Manchester City generated revenue of 712.8 million pounds (around 788 million francs) last season. That is the equivalent of 110 million francs more than in the same period last year. In its annual report for the 2022/23 season, the Champions League winner and English football champion also announced a record profit of 88.9 million francs on Wednesday. That’s an increase of a good 46 million francs and twice as much as in the past 12 months.
