Juarez City.- A couple of police officers who were attending a robbery report in progress against a convenience store in the Parajes de Oriente subdivision, were shot and injured by the criminals tonight.
Employees activated the panic button and a nearby unit responded to the call, arriving just as the assailants were leaving, sparking an exchange of fire.
Despite being injured, one of the agents managed to wound one of the alleged assailants and subdue him, while another managed to escape and is being searched by police officers from the three levels of government, reported a SSPM coordinator.
The incident occurred at 8:57 p.m., in a store on the streets of the Desert of Egypt and the Desert of Kavir, where a couple of policemen arrived to attend to two citizen calls who reported an assault with violence and detonations of a firearm.
Upon arriving at the store, the criminals fired at the officers, seriously injuring a policewoman and her partner, who repelled the attack, the commander said.
The uniformed men managed to injure one of them, while a second assailant managed to run away and is being searched for in the streets of the sector.
The injured officers were taken for medical attention at a local hospital.
