On Saturday March 23, 2024, activists of the Gabonese Social Democrats (SDG) party from the Ogooué Ivindo province gathered at the Makokou multipurpose hall on the occasion of their political return around Thierry Makando, national secretary , spokesperson and Hery Alex Walker Anguilet, political cabinet director of the President of the party, representing the President of this political formation.
This meeting, which was the first since the party’s return to the national political scene, is the 1ere stage of a long series of political returns planned in the 9 provinces.
During these meetings which were held in accordance with the statutes and internal regulations of the SDG, the delegates from the four departments of the largest province of the Country, during the work in committee, took stock of the activities of this political formation focused on the baptismal funds on August 9, 2018, before making recommendations with the aim of building a solidified political formation.
During this meeting, the activists, through motions of support, reaffirmed their commitment alongside Juste Louango Bouyoumeka, President of the SDG.
The second highlight of these Ogivine reunions was the inauguration of the provincial headquarters of the party located opposite the Alexandre Samba high school in the 1is district of the municipality. The inauguration of this beautiful working environment is part of the ambition of the president of this political group to be present throughout the territory.
The second political force in the country before the merger-absorption failure, the SDG had 7 deputies, 49 local and departmental elected officials including 1 Senator, 6 Mayors and 4 presidents of departmental councils as well as several senior administration officials.
