James-Webb is on his way
The James-Webb Space Telescope mission is going well and is setting the tone for 2022. Indeed, the new device will allow scientists around the world to make exciting discoveries. It should be in position by the end of January. According to NASA, the first observations should start only at the beginning of next summer.
Artemis
On February 12, the new American launcher SLS will launch a first mission of the Artémis program. This module will send astronauts to the Moon in 2025. During this mission, the Space Launch System will launch the Orion capsule into orbit around the Moon for 25 days. Ultimately, NASA’s goal is to send humans to Mars. To do this, a detour to the natural satellite of the Earth is necessary.
Other interesting missions
In September, ExoMars 2022 will send a rover to the Red Planet to study its atmosphere and habitability. For its part, China is planning several missions to expand and develop the new Tiangong space station. In addition, other initiatives could be unveiled in 2022 to send humans to the moon.
