Fist. Two people lost their lives by drowning in the Isla Taurauta of Chocco, in the district of Chupa, province of Azángaro. The victims were identified as René Edson Ayamamani Ramos, a taxi driver and native of the peasant community of Rucos, and Romualdo Hancco Quihuara, a teacher and native of Chiachia.

Apparently, the boat in which they entered to sail would have been wrecked, although witnesses indicated that their intentions at the site were to swim; however, they did not manage to get out due to the depth of the lagoon in the area. It was learned that they were accompanied by two women, who escaped unharmed. But the same fate did not run for the two young people, who came to that area for tourism.

The community members made various efforts to bring the bodies to the surface. It was necessary for several boats to search for them pbecause the bodies did not come to the surface. According to experts in the area, the two victims would have drowned due to the density of the algae.

The relatives of the deceased arrived at the scene and starred in heartbreaking scenes of pain. It was learned that those affected will be buried in their areas of origin.
