This is a specialized passenger port serving tourist transport on the Van Don route (Van Don district to the islands) and attractions on Bai Tu Long Bay, Ha Long Bay.
The port is invested and built in Ha Long commune, Van Don district, with a scale of nearly 30 hectares, synchronous, modern, integrated with many utilities, designed according to the theme of green space; in which, the land area is 5.9ha, the rest is water surface.
The project is designed with 5 wharves, 2 berths of 20m wide and 150m long that can accommodate fishing vessels up to 300 seats and 3 auxiliary berths for yachts and small ships. The lock zone can receive 150 cruise ships at the same time.
The passenger terminal area has a usable area of 8,000m2, designed capacity of 2.6 million passengers/year in the period 2020-2025 and expands to 3.2 million passengers/year, period 2025-2030; integrated with many utilities, functional subdivisions such as passenger pickup, ticketing, waiting room, accompanying ancillary services…
Putting Ao Tien high-class port into operation will open a new, synchronous and modern gateway for Van Don center to connect with island communes and Co To district.
