A new case of bird flu in a cat has been reported in South Korea. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Food, a cat that lived in an animal shelter in Seoul’s Gwanak Ward was diagnosed with the highly pathogenic H5N1 virus. The case comes six days after two more cases of AI were detected in cats at an animal shelter in Yongsan Ward, central Seoul.
The ministry said it will conduct stray cat surveys from August 1 to 20 in five cities and counties near areas where highly pathogenic AI cases have been detected, as well as 24 other high-risk localities. risk of contamination.
