“How I Met Your Mother” actor Neil Patrick Harris is selling the house he once lived in with his family. The sale price sets a new record for the district.
In Switzerland, Neil Patrick Harris is best known for the role of Barney Stinson which he held in the series “How I Met Your Mother” and in which David Burtka, who would later become her husband, also made numerous appearances. Shortly after, Harris had also made his coming out in “People Magazine” before getting married, five years later, in Italy. In 2013, the couple moved in with their children, Harper and Gideon, into the freestone Harlem mansion, which has since been their home.
David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris got married in Italy in 2011. Elton John was also there.

Sold just below asking price
The house was completely renovated by interior designers, Trace Lehnhoff and Jeffery Povero, under the supervision of David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris. Located on 5th Avenue, the property is 743 m², spread over five floors. It is composed, among other things, of five bedrooms, six bathrooms and rooms with nearly four meters under ceiling. Initially put on sale for 7.325 million dollars, it would have been sold for 7.1 million, according to the “New York Post”.
Here, the lobby of the five-story mansion the family had occupied since 2013.

The kitchen and its bay window give access to one of the balconies. If that weren’t enough, the rooftop terrace, with its outdoor kitchen and vast space for guests, should have plenty to satisfy. Speaking of guests, the bar is arguably one of the property’s highlights. The counter comes from an old hotel and has been restored for the couple.
