An accident leaves two seriously injured on the Cologny quay
A car crashed into several stopped vehicles, resulting in a chain collision. The quay is closed to traffic in the direction of Vésenaz.
A serious accident occurred this Thursday at the end of the day at the Cologny quay. Two people are seriously injured and the vital prognosis of one of them is engaged.
Shortly before 6 p.m., near the Tour Carrée, four vehicles stopped at the traffic lights. Suddenly, a fifth vehicle hits them violently from the rear, causing a chain collision. Its driver had to be helicoptered to the hospital. Its vital prognosis is committed according to the spokesperson for the Geneva cantonal police, Alexandre Brahier.
The driver of the vehicle in front of him was also seriously injured and was transported to hospital by ambulance. The other three drivers were only slightly injured.
The causes of this accident are unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing. For its needs, the Quai de Cologny is closed to traffic between the Place de Traînant and the covered trench of Vésenaz, in the direction of France. This should last all evening. Deviations are put in place.
