People’s Power Party runners appealed for last support on the 4th, when the voting for the party members at the 3/8 National Convention began. Candidate Ki-hyun Kim asked for ‘overwhelming support’ that does not require a runoff vote. Candidate Chul-soo Ahn appealed to send him to the runoff. Candidate Haram Chun criticized ‘Haek-gwan Yun (key official of President Seok-yeol Yoon) vested interests’, and Candidate Gyo-ahn Hwang pointed out Candidate Kim’s ‘land speculation risk’.

Candidate Kim said on his social network service (SNS) that day, “Overwhelming support is the basis for strong leadership and unshakable leadership of the newly launched party leadership.” It creates a leadership that can go all-in to win the general election.” Candidate Kim said, “I will create the power of the people with the ability to succeed the Yoon Seok-yeol government and the power of the people to win the general election next year.”

Candidate Ahn said, “The power of the people can win the general election only when Ahn Cheol-soo is sent to the final vote,” and said, “The 12th (the date of the final vote) is the day to decide the party representative, not the 8th of March.” Candidate Ahn appealed, saying, “Until Candidate Kim’s real estate suspicions are completely resolved, we must not elect him as the party representative.”

Candidate Cheon said, “I voted at the party convention in Suncheon, a city of victory where people will surely win if they run for the party representative in the power of the people.” Former representative Lee Joon-seok, who supports Candidate Chun, wrote, “I ask for a valuable vote (to the candidate) for the reform and victory in the metropolitan area, Party Representative Chun Ha-ram, Supreme Council Members Huh Eun-ah and Kim Yong-tae, and Youth Supreme Council Member Lee Ki-in.”

Candidate Hwang criticized the rest of the candidates except himself. He argued, “In the opinion poll, 64.7% of respondents said that candidate Kim had a risk related to land speculation.” He pointed out, “Candidate Ahn destroyed every party he created, such as the New Politics Alliance for Democracy, the People’s Party, and the Bareun Mirae Party.” He also criticized, saying, “If Candidate Chun becomes the party representative, our party will become’Democratic Party 2nd Company, Lee Jun-seok Season 2’.”

The People’s Power electoral corps (839,569 people) can vote only once among mobile voting on the 4th and 5th and ARS voting on the 6th and 7th. Mobile voting can be participated in with a mobile phone in one’s name from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for two days starting today. The electoral corps can vote for one of the party representative candidates, two of the candidates for the supreme council, and one of the candidates for the youth supreme council.

The results of the first vote will be announced at the party convention on the 8th. If no party leader candidate receives a majority of votes, a runoff will be held for the first and second place candidates. The finalists will have a one-on-one debate on the 9th. The final party representative will be confirmed on the 12th through mobile voting on the 10th and ARS voting on the 11th.
