Without even being officially announced, Grand Theft Auto VI already acts as an Arlesian of video games. Almost ten years after the initial publication of GTA Va sequel is still sorely awaited.
The memory of leaving Grand Theft Auto : The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition in 2021 is particularly painful for Rockstar Games. Critics were then numerous around the state of the remaster. The lack of finish was such that the studio had to publish a statement of apology. And in the aftermath, the developer was quick to deliver a massive fix to its title. The update was welcome, but still insufficient to make the gaming experience completely satisfying.
However, Rockstar Games seems to have learned from this misstep. Selon Kotakuthe studio would now fully focus on the development of GTA VI. If the information turns out to be correct, it means that other possible projects are on the sidelines. Thus, we should no longer hope for the revisited versions of GTA IV et Red Dead Redemption, mentioned by some media in recent months. Generally speaking, no more remakes or remasters would be considered.
Rockstar Games now has free rein to focus on producing the next installment. However, we should not hope for the arrival of a Grand Theft Auto VI for at least a few years. The gestation of a game as expected and as ambitious as a GTA is a long-term job. In the meantime, the studio can count on the financial windfall provided continuously by GTA Online et Red Dead Online.
