Mumbai > Roger Binny has been announced as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The decision will be taken at the BCCI annual meeting. He was a member of the team that won the ODI World Cup in 1983. The former all-rounder was brought in as the head of the governing body when Sourav Ganguly did not contest again.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s son Jai Shah will continue as secretary. Ganguly was not considered again because he was not ready to join the BJP. Ganguly was offered the post of IPL chairman but declined.
Rajeev Shukla will continue as Vice President. Devjith Lone Saikia is the joint secretary. Ashish Sheler is the Treasurer. Arun Singh Dhumal was elected as the chairman of IPL. There were candidates for every position. The International Cricket Council (ICC) representative has not been selected.
Sixty-seven-year-old Binny is the president of the Karnataka Cricket Association. He was a member of the national team from 1979 to 1987. He took 47 wickets in 27 Tests. 77 wickets in 72 ODIs. In the 1983 World Cup, he took 18 wickets in eight games and played an important role in winning the title. He excelled as a coach, selector and association official.
Sourav Ganguly will return as the Cricket Association of Bengal President. It is indicated that he will submit the paper on 22nd. Before becoming the BCCI president, he was the president of the Bengal Association. His response is that he cannot continue in any position forever.
