A school bus with a child and his companion on board found himself in a very bad situation due to the heavy rains which affected West Flanders in recent days.

It has rained heavily in recent days in this region and many streets remain impassable, particularly in Noordschote. Despite a sign announcing the closure of a small street, the bus driver still decided to get involved.
Unfortunately, after a few meters the water level was so high that the bus got stuck and came to rest in the ditch.

The driver had no choice but to notify the emergency services, announces Laatste Nieuws. Fortunately, the firefighters did not have too much difficulty extricating two of the three occupants. The driver preferred to stay in his bus while waiting for the backhoe loader to arrive.
Police attended and confirmed that the driver had failed to obey the sign.
