Scientist: Eating halva can prolong youth

Russia – Biologist Irina Lyalina, from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the Russian University of Education, revealed the benefits of halva for human health.

She said in an interview with the newspaper “Izvestia”: “Halva, made from ground sesame, nuts or sunflower seeds, is rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron and magnesium. They can be useful as a source of energy and nutrients. In addition, halva contains healthy fatty acids and antioxidants that may help improve heart health and reduce inflammation. This sweetness is very beneficial for the elderly because it contains fiber that “feeds” beneficial bacteria in the large intestine.”

Vitamin E, which is found in sweets made from sunflower seeds, fights aging and is very beneficial for women. Silicon, which is the main component of peanut candy, is an essential component of cartilage, tendons and teeth. Eating sweets made from flax seeds provides tremendous support for the cardiovascular system.

She says: “But we must realize that seeds and nuts – the main components of sweetness, are among the strongest allergens, so it is best for children, pregnant women and people with allergies to avoid this product or use it with extreme caution.” The high sugar content in various types of sweets is another reason to eat them in moderation, especially for people with diabetes, heart problems or excess weight, as well as children with dental problems and teenagers with acne.”

In addition, some types of sweetness may contain additional ingredients such as oil and syrup, which are harmful to health. Therefore, it is recommended not to eat more than 50 grams of sweetness per day.
