Seoul Hosts Hangeul Day Events and Autumn Cultural Programs at Han River

As the Republic of Korea observes Hangeul Day on October 9, 2026, Seoul is shifting cultural celebrations away from standard keyboard play toward interactive linguistic exploration.

Interactive Hangeul Exploration at Ttukseom Hangang Park

The core of the Hangeul Day initiative centers at the Ttukseom “Hangang Full Full” complex. Beginning at 1:00 PM on October 9, the entire site transforms into a dedicated Hangeul playground. Rather than passive observation, visitors engage in active spatial analysis through the “Hangeul Chameleon” event starting at 2:00 PM. Participants scour the grounds to locate four hidden characters—”ㅎ, ㄱ, ㅍ, ㅍ”—with the first 50 successful hunters securing exclusive commemorative prizes at the information desk.

Complementing the scavenger hunt, hands-on crafting stations offer direct engagement with the Korean alphabet. For quieter tactical reflection, the facility’s Riverview Lounge operates a dedicated “Book Shelter” stocked with literature focused on Hangeul and the Han River.

Cinematic Screenings and Evening Drone Spectacle

Moving indoors to the complex’s third floor, the venue shifts from tactical exploration to historical storytelling through a curated film slate. The sequence kicks off at 1:00 PM with the war epic Taegukgi, followed sequentially by The Way Home, YMCA Baseball Team, and the animated feature Oseam.

When daylight fades, the programming pivots to open-air digital entertainment. The Ttukseom Hangang Park waterside stage hosts a specialized drone light show centered around a “Joseon Fantasy” motif. To accommodate the surge in holiday visitors, the venue has adjusted its operating schedule, keeping Hangang Full Full open until 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

Waterfront Wellness and Live Performances at Gwangjin Bridge

Downriver at Gwangjinnaeru Hangang Park, Gwangjin Bridge 8th Avenue uses its panoramic observation deck for fitness and acoustic showcases. On October 24 at 2:00 PM, the space hosts an exclusive yoga session led by wellness creator “Yoga Boy,” whose digital channel boasts approximately 500,000 subscribers, following a pre-drawn lottery selection process.

Live music takes center stage on October 10 and 17, featuring the “Seoul Street Performance Nook-by-Nook Live” series from 2:00 PM to 4:40 PM. The open-access lineup includes piano, guitar, traditional gugak, and acoustic acts requiring no prior registration. Morning runners and cyclists can also utilize the “Easy-Easy Morning Gwangjinbridge” sessions on October 18 and 25 from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, with on-site registration opening at 6:00 AM at the Gwangnaru Bicycle Park assembly point.
