September 11, 2001: Michael Jackson almost lost his life in these attacks

Tuesday, September 11, 2021 is a date the whole world will never forget. 21 years after this sad anniversary, the magazine Elle reveals that Michael Jackson could have been among the many victims.

On this Sunday, September 11, 2022, US President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris will pay tribute to the 3,000 victims of the attacks. All day long, commemorations are planned across the United States, and at U.S. embassies around the world. Thousands of people are also expected at One World Trade Center in New York, where the National September 11 Memorial and Museum are located. On this occasion, we learn that Michael Jackson could have lost his life in one of these attacks.

According to the magazine Elle, the King of Pop had a meeting organized on September 11, 2001 in one of the twin towers of the World Trade Center. This business meeting was planned at the time of the terrorist attacks. However, the day before this interview, Michael Jackson had given a concert in New York to celebrate his thirty-year career. The same morning, the King of Pop had decided to cancel this interview at the last minute, due to fatigue. He had preferred to rest and had declined this meeting, and it clearly saved his life. Many years later, this information was revealed by Jermaine Jackson: “We were terrified when the towers came down, we knew Michael was there.“The singer’s brother thought he was among the victims of this tragedy, but luckily that was not the case.

Michael Jackson’s Legacy

Eight years after the attacks, the King of Pop died on June 25, 2009, following a drug overdose. Since the disappearance of Michael Jackson, his inheritance has been shared between his three children, and Katherine Jackson, his mother who ensures their guardianship.

Every year, the Jackson kids would get about $300 million thanks to copyrights and projects related to their father such as derivative products or shows. As a tribute to their late father, Paris, Prince and Blanket Jackson reportedly attended the Broadway premiere of the musical “MJ The Musical” recently. In addition to this fine financial and musical heritage, Paris Jackson, 24, has a career as a model and muse for international brands. In April 2022, she became the new KVD Beauty vegan cosmetics brand ambassador.
