The heatwave gave way to storms this Tuesday at the end of the day. Around 5 p.m., the rains fell on the province of Namur. Firefighters from the three emergency zones were called upon around a hundred times for various missions linked to bad weather.

Thus the Dinaphi zone has around forty missions. “These were mainly focused on Ciney, Dinant and Philippeville,” reports Captain Patrice Liétart, spokesperson for the area. “We are talking regarding sludge on the roads or even trees on the road. »

For its part, the Val de Sambre zone lists around twenty interventions, all concentrated in the town of Fosses-la-Ville. “There were a lot of private cellars flooded. The firefighters installed dams with sandbags and pumped out the water,” we are told.

And finally in the NAGE zone, around forty calls were received at the barracks. “For cutting, trees on the road, some flooding and especially for blocked drains,” we are told. “The missions were mainly concentrated at the Namur barracks with interventions in Jambes, Daussoulx, Wépion, Sart-Bernard or even Ohey or Arbre. Gembloux and Andenne were spared. »
