Fatal shark attacks on tourists in Egypt have made headlines in recent days. Two women were killed in the seaside resort of Hurghada.

A similar incident occurred in the United States last Friday, as reported by several US media. Accordingly, 17-year-old Addison Bethea was also attacked by a shark on Keaton Beach in Florida. In water only 1.50 meters deep, the animal bit itself in the teenager’s right leg!

As a result, the 22-year-old put the animal to flight and brought his half-sister back to shore. Eventually, the seriously injured woman was taken to the hospital.

Luckily, Bethea survived. Nevertheless, the event has serious consequences. The doctors had to amputate the right leg of the American in the hospital.

Relatives have now created a Facebook page called “Fight Like Addison”. A video published there shows the youngster daring to take her first steps after the operation.
