This Wednesday, the police accompanied by inspectors discovered 75 frozen animals (72 cats and 3 dogs) in several freezers of a Borinage dwelling.
“It’s horrible what was discovered”said Gaetan Sgualdino, president of the SPA La Louvière, to our colleagues from the DH. “It is behavior that is not human. One wonders how they could live peacefully knowing the acts they had committed. It is absolutely incomprehensible.”
SPA veterinarians have thus found adult cats, kittens and even fetuses. “Some were already in a state of decomposition when they were frozen. The BEA inspectors who intervened admitted to having never seen this and the police officers who stayed with us during the ‘count’ were in shock”
The DH adds that 25 cats were also seized. “The surviving cats were in very poor condition and suffered from various pathologies. We can clearly see that they were mistreated there and we also better understand the state in which some cats found frozen were. A priori, their environment there it was the apocalypse with a lot of trash everywhere as well as piles of excrement. In short, it was total horror and it is difficult to imagine such behavior”, concluded Gaetan Sgualdino.
