An Australian couple in Sydney couldn’t believe their eyes when they realized their landlady was unknowingly coming in to use the kitchen and bathroom when they weren’t there.

“The owner lived in a valve just outside the property. And when we left, she would come back into the unit to use our bathroom, the kitchen and she would use our laundry – and I don’t know what else – without us knowing it, ”said Tahlia Smith in a video on TikTok shared by the New York Post on Wednesday.
The woman from Brisbane, Australia said she found the perfect rental when she moved to Sydney, saying she did business with a “legitimate and well-known” real estate company to find accommodation.
The apartment, near downtown, was affordable and “fully furnished,” she continued. Except that when they arrived, they chose to ignore certain elements that had seemed strange to them at first sight.

But over the months, the situation would have gotten worse when she noticed that a woman lived in a valve in front of their apartment, and entered the building with her dog to rummage through their mail and their garbage cans, she said. for follow-up.
By informing the company, the couple would have learned that it was in fact the owner of the building, before discovering with horror that she regularly returned to their accommodation. The Australian would have immediately broken the lease with the company.
Under Australian law, a landlord can only access a home if tenants have been notified at least two days in advance, unless there is an emergency, the New York Post reported.
