BARCELONA, Spain, Nov. 20, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Qatari capital will host the third edition of the region’s main event dedicated to urban innovation on November 29 and 30. Under the slogan “A World of Data: Connecting People, Elevating Lives”, Smart City Expo Doha (SCE Doha) will lead the debate on sustainable urban development and the importance of data in building smarter and more livable cities . Organized by the Qatar Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), SCE Doha is an event of the Smart City Expo World Congress and Fira Barcelona International. More than 70 speakers, more than 100 countries represented and 40 companies and organizations will participate in this event which will be held within the framework of the Qatar International Horticulture Exhibition, which will take place at Al-Bidda Park.
A conference bringing together more than 70 experts, including Renée Cummings, founder and CEO of Urban AI, Community Scholar at Columbia University, Ott Velsberg, Chief Data Officer of the Estonian government, and Frans-Anton Vermast, strategy advisor and ambassador smart city international in the Netherlands, will mark the climax of the Smart City Expo Doha 2023 by sharing their vision on four main themes: green urban environments, digital governance, cognitive cities and places to live.
The 40 companies, partners and sponsors will present their new products and solutions in the field of urban innovation, both during the congress and in the networking area which will promote commercial relations, professional contacts and business opportunities between participating companies and visitors.
Smart City Expo Doha participates in the internationalization strategy of the Smart City Expo World Congress, the leading global exhibition on smart cities and urban solutions organized annually by Fira Barcelona, the 13th edition of which was held last November . With this in mind, foreign editions were organized in 2023 in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, the United States, Mexico and China.
