The Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, Léandre Emmanuel Bouloubou, in his speech celebrating World Water Day this Friday March 22 in Libreville, outlined some structuring projects intended to put an end to water stress in certain areas of Greater Libreville, an area bringing together the towns of Owendo, Libreville, Akanda and Ntoum.

The Ministry of Energy and Hydraulic Resources, indicated that the Government of the Transition will work to operationalize the Water Law (law 11/23 of November 19, 2023) through the implementation implementing texts and the implementation of study projects for a better “knowledge of our surface and underground water resources” with a view to better visibility for investors and development partners.

World Water Day in Gabon was celebrated in partnership with UNESCO, under the theme: “Water for Peace”. In his speech, Eric Voli Bi, representative of the UN institution in Gabon, said that it “trained 51 professionals to improve water security in Gabon. These training courses strengthened capacities in water resources assessment, integrated water resources management, hydrology, drilling, water purification, intelligent water management, as well as in the areas transversal activities such as project management and prevention of environmental risks”.
