(CNN) — The Sudanese army commander, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, denied the possibility of future negotiations with his opponent, the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, “Hemedti.”

When a journalist on Al-Jazeera asked Al-Burhan, “Whether negotiation is still an option?”, he replied: “We do not see a party with whom we can negotiate at the present time.” He added: “The other party promised to destroy the Sudanese army, to rule Sudan, and to promise the people.” Sudanese with sadness and distress.

Al-Burhan said that the fighting in Khartoum is now centered around the airport and near the army’s general command, while most of the “rapid support” forces’ points in neighboring cities have been destroyed.

CNN has not been able to verify this claim.

The Sudanese army commander said: “We do not want conflict and we do not want war. We do not fight in residential neighborhoods.” He added that his army has not yet confronted the “rapid support” forces outside the “military areas”, but the armed forces have the ability to do so.
