Exclusive translation: The British newspaper, the Daily Mail, reported that a senior Kremlin official had contacted Western diplomats and intelligence chiefs in an attempt to help end the war in Ukraine.
She explained that many of Moscow’s elite are very concerned regarding the path of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of the neighboring country and are worried regarding the sting of the wide-ranging sanctions imposed by the West in response.
A Ukrainian diplomatic source told The Mirror that he would not be surprised to hear that high-ranking officials in the Kremlin are trying to communicate with Western intelligence agencies behind Putin’s back.
He added that if a senior politician in Moscow publicly declared his desire for peace in Ukraine or criticized Putin, his life with his family would be in grave danger.
