Suspended Bridges Linking Quebec and Lévis

The Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) website and social media announced the cancellation of all sailings until further notice at around 4:50 a.m. due to an emergency situation. A spokesperson for STQ revealed that the cancellation was caused by a broken generator on MV Lomer-Gouin. The ferry serving the Quebec-Lévis link is currently docked in Lévis, but there is no timeline for when the service will resume. For regular users of the ferry service, service disruptions have become the norm in recent years. Philippe Roy, who takes the ferry to work, highlighted the benefits of using the ferry, such as avoiding traffic jams. However, he also expressed frustration at the regularity of service failures, which, according to him, have become normal. Real Pelletier, another ferry commuter, also expressed frustration and highlighted the impact on his schedule due to having to drive to cross the river.

The notice was published on the Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) website and on social media around 4:50 a.m. this morning.
