The laboratory and the forensic doctor went to the scene and suspicious elements were discovered during the first findings, triggering the opening of an investigation for murder.
“The autopsy will take place on Sunday. A suspect, namely the occupant of the premises, was taken by the police to be questioned,” specifies the prosecution. The suspect, a man in his fifties, called emergency services himself.

According to the Nieuwsblad, the victim, of Ukrainian origin, did not live in the neighborhood but had made a few appearances in the area in recent days. It was this Friday that a local resident saw her for the last time. She was just returning to the building in which she was found dead. “When we suddenly saw the emergency services and then the police on Saturday at the foot of the building, we immediately thought the worst. It’s scary. It’s terrible to die like that.”
According to local residents, the suspect, who lives in the apartment, had already made people talk regarding him among his neighbors, particularly for causing a disturbance.
