Tamer Hosni at Beirut’s biggest concert: “This is it!”

The feet were about to betray him when they were struck by a chatter. Tamer Hosni gave himself a seat, perhaps resting for a few seconds to calm the palpitations. This is how the feet are, disturbed when the expected situations exceed. Tens of thousands filled the seats of the “Forum de Beirut”, chanting in the name of the star of Egypt. At the pulse of throats and waving hands, he was dumbfounded. Since his warm reception in the vicinity of the “Phenicia” hotel, he is aware that something exceptional will happen in Lebanon. Most likely, he hadn’t expected to see such a gushing public river.

Therefore, he surrendered himself to a seat that covered his tremors. “How can I sing?” He acknowledged one’s shrinking before the great moments, and asked applause for Lebanon and its people. Seven years have passed since the last concert he performed on his land, and on Saturday evening he returned. With the white look and the famous “howa deh”, he lit up the city’s space with singing that extended beyond midnight, provoking the problematic question: Collapse, truth or lie?

Tens of thousands gathered in one of Lebanon’s largest parties (the organizing party)

For a while, this amazing noise did not happen in Beirut parties. The number is huge, and the audience is different. Every artist has loved ones, asking him for their favorite songs and cheering him with expressions of love. And every artist is a state that causes a fall in those who come to rejoice. Tamer Hosni is another matter of fact. It’s not an exaggeration to talk about emotional “breakdowns”. Around me who cried out to the point of breaking the call to prayer in the midst of the clamor. And those who interacted meltingly with his songs. Describing the Lebanon concert as “historic” was not in vain.

The “Beirut Disco” band tried to fill the time, waiting for him to go on stage. For an hour, he was late for an eager audience. Girls danced to the beat of the enthusiastic music. And he appeared from time to time, expelling the boredom of the waiting, so he awakened their throats with the question, “Are you ready for Tamer?” Repeat, shouts get louder.

He opened the evening with “Happiness Hormone”, after asking him, “Ready?” He spoke to the people of the country in his dialect: “In the Lebanese language, I miss you so much.” Between “Coblet” and another, he chanted “Lebanon”. During the ceremony, he did not miss raising his flag, and with him the voices rose and the applause intensified.

Sometimes, he stopped singing to say what he had. He described the day as “very beautiful”, addressing the Lebanese: “It is okay, they made it very loud,” by exaggerating the gym instead of thinning it in the Egyptian way. He sang, “From today, he spoiled me,” which is self-confidence by refusing to rely on anyone. He also sang “every time I see you,” enjoying the “ah” tune with one mass voice. And with the singing, the free swaying was on the stage, so he jumped, like many did, and moved as if he was in his home.

He wanted to dedicate a song to “The Sweetest Unity With Us Today,” asking the lighting engineer to aim the light on the faces. On the occasion, the effects of striking lighting, “smoking” and sparks of fire interfered in making the difference. The organizing company “GMH” and its owner, Hussein Kasira, whom Hosni singled out as a salute for the effort, only wanted this level of success. One of them shouted at the Egyptian artist: “Look here,” intending to choose her among the beauties, so he would guide her to the song. With diplomacy, he equated the features: “God willing, you are all beautiful,” so “Bint Al-Ayah” was a collective dedication to those who attended.

Continue singing what we chanted in adolescence, and today’s generation repeats. Among the audience, there were those who chanted every song, new and old; The writer of the lines felt that a train was missing. This generated a question about the meaning of keeping up with time and its standards. The important thing is that he sang “I do not know,” and some of what he squandered was “alienation.” The youth artist’s newness is about to leave a feeling that the reluctance to memorize is an outsider among the clever group.

He asked, who among the audience is in love, only to find a kind of fading. He rephrased the question: “Who among you can stop palpitations?” They cheered. He asked to light the phones to sing “Come back to me,” causing some hearts to bleed: “Not all people can forget… Well, why can’t I forget you?” Attach it to “Enough with your excuses,” and the internal moaning continues. Then he wanted to silence the scars: “I feel the wounds very much, but enough sorrows.” And complete the night of joy.

Tamer Hosni’s concert is an interaction with people. He does not come to sing according to the ready. Between each song, he speaks, in the Egyptian way, by showing affection. He establishes some of the dialogue, in preparation for singing. Once again, he asked, “Who’s birthday is today?” The exaggeration surprised him when huge numbers raised their hands. “This month’s medicine?” Hands grow larger. “Are we all cold?” His surprise continues. So he sang to those who were truthful and to those who invented, “Every year and you are good.” The most beautiful thing in it is the following passage: “And my life is for me to come to remove you between my eyes, a shell / And if you are able, my soul, I will bring you the stars of the night.” No need to describe trends anymore.

He gave two girls two chances to sing with him. One of them is called Caroline and the other is Leah, from “The Voice Kids”. The audience laughed as she replaced “How Deh” with her Lebanese equivalent, “Haida Howe,” as she left the stage amidst “Love You Tamer” confession. He sang to married couples, “A Dream of Years,” and she did not miss “My phone rang.” Many asked him, “Oh, the light of my eyes,” and he responded. “Don’t be away from me, not even for a second/ Embrace me, make me forget the world,” awakened the sense of the human need for a hug.

He thanked Lebanon, “a reception, taste, energy, love and enthusiasm.” The Lebanese are lovers of life and hope.
