Thai army commander ruled out possibility of coup after Sunday’s legislative elections. “There must be no more coups. For me, this word must be deleted from the dictionary,” General Narongpan Jitkaewthae told reporters on Thursday. The manager assured that the previous blows had been “very negative”.
The pro-army conservative camp led by outgoing Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha is losing in the polls to the opposition parties, Pheu Thai and “Move Forward”. 52 million people called to vote
His announced defeat raises fears of the threat of a new military intervention in the kingdom, which has experienced a dozen coups since the end of the absolute monarchy in 1932. Some 52 million Thais are called to vote in a very expected, for which experts expect a high turnout.
