The conservative pro-army camp is the loser in Sunday’s legislative elections in Thailand.

Thai army commander ruled out possibility of coup after Sunday’s legislative elections. “There must be no more coups. For me, this word must be deleted from the dictionary,” General Narongpan Jitkaewthae told reporters on Thursday. The manager assured that the previous blows had been “very negative”.

The pro-army conservative camp led by outgoing Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha is losing in the polls to the opposition parties, Pheu Thai and “Move Forward”. Prayut (69) is a former army general who seized power in 2014 following a coup against the elected government of Yingluck Shinawatra, whose niece Paetongtarn Shinawatra (Pheu Thai) is the favorite to succeed him.
