The Chase Star Shaun Wallace Targeted by Luggage Thieves in London Daylight Raid

The Chase star Shaun Wallace was left devastated after thieves stole his luggage during a daylight raid at London’s St Pancras International station last month. The 66-year-old television personality, nicknamed the “Dark Destroyer,” was targeted as he was getting into a taxi after arriving from Paris where he had filmed an advertisement.

Mr Wallace had packed three pieces of luggage into the back of the cab when a man approached him and said, Oi mate, you dropped a card at the back! According to Mr Wallace, he got out to look for the card and left his rucksack behind. When he returned, another person had stolen the bag from inside the vehicle.

What Was Stolen

The stolen rucksack contained several personal items, including Mr Wallace’s favourite blue suede shoes, like Elvis, my Gucci perfume and I also had my two car keys in there because I couldn’t find my original car keys. He described the incident while speaking to a New Zealand radio show.

Wallace on London Crime

When asked if the thieves recognised him, Mr Wallace said, No they didn’t recognise me, they don’t care about that…crime in London is out of control. He is not the only celebrity to have been targeted at the station. In 2025, Formula One world champion Jenson Button’s wife, Brittney, had luggage containing over £250,000 worth of luxury goods and sentimental items stolen outside St Pancras. The stolen bag also included countless sentimental objects and antique jewellery from her wedding and the birth of her daughter.

Police Response

The Metropolitan Police has launched a major crackdown around King’s Cross and St Pancras stations, citing luggage theft as an organised crime. Chief Inspector Dave Hodges told the Daily Mail that thieves are watching… they are looking for luggage and when the opportune moment comes, they are taking it. Private chauffeurs are also being trained to be extra vigilant when dropping off passengers in the area due to the high rate of thefts. A chauffeur named Adnan said, King’s Cross is part of the training where they say you have to be extra careful because people are taking luggage from the vehicles. That is part of the training. The Mail’s investigation also exposed ‘jurisdiction’ confusion between the Met Police and British Transport Police, which has led to victims being caught up in bureaucratic red tape.
