The City Duma of Perm prematurely deprived the deputy of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Sergei Medvedev of his powers, who spoke out against the Russian invasion of Ukraine, reports issue 59.ru.

The decision was made unanimously – 33 deputies voted for it.

“I consider our adoption of this decision today to be important and relevant. A person who does not support the ideology of our state cannot be a deputy. Today, when our common unity and focus on achieving the goals set by the leadership of our country are more important than ever,” said Dmitry Malyutin, speaker of the Perm City Duma, at a meeting on January 23.

On December 31, Sergei Medvedev published on his personal pages VKontakte, access to which is limited, is anti-war post with criticism of Vladimir Putin. “Russia, wake up! They’re killing you! It’s terrible to realize that the monster who is behind this is going to the polls again. I want the war to end! I want to see Russia free from Putin’s shackles,” the deputy wrote.

In early January, a screenshot of Medvedev’s post spread across patriotic telegram channels. Perm communists said that their fellow party members should be dealt with by the “competent authorities.”

On January 13, Sergei Medvedev flew to Kazakhstan, and from there moved over to Georgia. Ural media, citing sources in law enforcement agencies, reported that after the deputy’s departure, he was put on the international wanted list.
