The curfew lowered to 6 p.m. in Pointe-à-Pitre and Les Abymes from this Friday

Due to the numerous abuses committed during the strike day of January 20 and during the night from Thursday to Friday, the prefecture decided to lower the curfew to 6 p.m. from this Friday.

A night marked by riots. Violence, looting, roadblocks and attacks against the police, this is what the prefect of the Region of Guadeloupe, Alexandre Rochatte, condemns in a press release.

Thus, and this in order, “to prevent events in the nights to come”, the curfew will therefore be lowered to 6 p.m. in the municipalities of Pointe-a-Pitre and Abyss, from this Friday until Sunday 23 January.

As a reminder, on the occasion of the strike day of Thursday, January 20 and on the sidelines of the demonstrations against the vaccination obligation, overflows and live ammunition against the police had been listed.
