Download Audio (30.4MB | MP3)

Helena Waldmann is an autodidact in choreography, has never danced herself and does not specify any steps for her dancers. Her plays are performed worldwide and have received numerous awards.

For Waldmann, dance is a political art: in her pieces, she addresses social and political grievances, such as working conditions in textile factories in Bangladesh. She is currently working on the ancient dance “Lazgi”, which she researched in Uzbekistan.
