Al-Ahly team is preparing to play a new match in the Egyptian League today, Tuesday, against Pharco, after a draw with Future with a goal for each team in the last round of the competition.

The 64th edition of the Egyptian Premier League competitions started on October 18, 2022, and its first edition was in 1948, and the tournament is considered one of the best ever in the Middle East and Africa.

Al-Ahly is the historical champion of the Egyptian League after achieving the title 42 times, while Zamalek is the second most club to win the championship with a total of 14 times, and Ismaily comes in third place, with a large difference from the runner-up, after winning the competition throughout its history on only three occasions.

Zamalek won the title in the last two seasons, to continue its control over the image of local titles in the past few seasons, while Pyramids ranked second in the 2021-22 season, beating Al-Ahly third.

Al-Ahly qualifies for the semi-finals of the Egypt Cup

Al-Ahly qualified for the Egyptian Cup semi-finals after winning a penalty shootout 4-3 over the Arab Contractors in the quarter-finals after the end of the original and extra time in a 1-1 draw. Karim Fouad scored Al-Ahly’s goal in the 68th minute, while Nigerian John Okoli equalized for the contractors eight minutes later.

The Competitions Committee of the Football Association set next January 16 as the date for the two semi-final matches of the Egypt Cup season 2021-2022, between Al-Ahly, Smouha, Zamalek and Pyramids, after they reached this role at the expense of the Arab Contractors, Al-Masry and Al-Ahly Bank.
