A 23-year-old girl reported that a doctor who treated her at the José María Cullen hospital ward groped her and harassed her during a consultation.
It happened at dawn, when the young man, who underwent surgery two weeks ago, went for a tachycardia. In this context, the professional -who turns out to be a regular medical student- made the mother of the office leave her, and there he would have touched her inappropriately, he threw himself on top of her and even asked for her telephone number and invited out of it.
According to what the victim’s mother told the LT10 Mobile, she managed to tell him what happened, and when confronting the 53-year-old doctor, he would have asked her not to report it.
In dialogue with LT10, Dr. Juan Pablo Poletti, director of the hospital, said that they communicated with the victim, listened to her story and accompanied the complaint. In addition, they met with Ministry authorities and legal counsel. Likewise, a note was presented to initiate pre-summary actions and then give way to the Prosecutor’s Office.
In any case, Poletti clarified that the person detained “He is not a hospital professional, but a student, a regular student at the National University of Rosario, and within that context it did happen, according to what the complainant refers to, in a guard’s office.”
Furthermore, he confirmed that “Provisionally all internships are suspended, and this person, until his situation is regularized, is prohibited from entering the hospital”.
Regarding the patient, she explained that she is a regular since she had undergone surgery on other occasions and usually consults at the effector.
Finally, he explained that there are no cameras inside the offices because it is illegal, but there are in the corridors. These have been reviewed and are ready for when the investigation requires them.
