The Ministry of Culture does not issue a distribution certificate for the film “Brother 3” directed by Valery Pereverzev because of the title. The author of the film said that he was ready to change it for the sake of the film’s release.

Unfortunately, the discussion with representatives of the Ministry of Culture on the phone lasted too long at the level of “well, why such a name?” I tried to explain that I was not violating the laws of Russia by calling the film “Brother 3”. In his opinion, the film is technically ready and accepted by the State Film Fund, and the claims of the Ministry of Culture mostly affect “legal norms.” “If on November 20 “Brother 3” still does not receive a distribution certificate or number, the premiere in Tambov, where the film was filmed, will be disrupted. The premiere in St. Petersburg, which is scheduled for November 22, is also under threat,” the director concluded.
Filming passed at the end of April 2023. The film tells the story of a general’s daughter who is in love with a street artist. Despite its title, the film will not be related to the plot of the films “Brother 2” and “Brother” directed by Alexei Balobanov.
