The General Authority for Audiovisual Media in Saudi Arabia announced, on Tuesday, the arrest of a famous person in the Snapchat application, who is of Arab nationality, after violating the regulations in force in the Kingdom related to the controls of commercial and work.

It also issued a circular stopping her from and fining her 400,000 riyals, for working without a license, even though she did not have the right to do so, as she was coming on a tourist visa.

In addition, the Ministry of Commerce seized the violating facility and imposed legal penalties on it.

It is noteworthy that the famous “Snapchat” girl violated several regulations, according to the authority, including “the media system, the e-commerce system and the fight against smoking by practicing work without a license, and by publishing clips and coverage through her accounts on social media that promoted tobacco products, which stipulates Laws and regulations to refrain from promoting, marketing or and its products directly or indirectly.

The violation was referred to the committee to look into the penalties of the e-commerce system, to impose legal penalties on it and the commercial establishment.

The authority issued a circular not to deal with the advertiser or advertise with it, and to notify the visitor to stop in the Kingdom or content directed to the Saudi audience.

It is noteworthy that the famous “Snapchat”, whose account the authority indicated with the first two letters (YO), arrived in Riyadh a few days ago on a tourist visit to the Kingdom to make several advertisements, most notably an advertisement for tobacco and cigarettes.
