Dubai, United Arab Emirates – (CNN) According to data from Swiss air quality technology company IQAir, air pollution remains the world’s largest environmental health threat. Exposure to air pollution causes many health conditions that may worsen, including, for example, asthma, cancer, lung disease, heart disease, and premature death.

The Global Air Quality Report 2022 reviews the state of air quality around the world during the past year. This report presents PM2.5 air quality data from 7,323 cities across 131 countries, regions and territories. PM2.5 data in this report is measured in micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m3) and includes the World Health Organization (WHO) air quality guidelines and interim targets as a basis for data visualization and risk communication.

And due to the classification of Arab cities according to the state of air quality in 2022, the city of Baghdad in Iraq ranked first in the Arab world and ranked 13th in the world among the most polluted cities, to join the extreme category of PM2.5 data, and record an average of 86.7, exceeding more than 10 times the following guidelines. WHO.
