A number of singing stars in the Arab world are taking part in the “Masterpieces of Al-Muji” celebration, which is being held tonight at the Abu Bakr Salem Theater in Saudi Arabia, to honor the name of the late Egyptian musician Muhammad Al-Muji, one of the most important pillars of music in Egypt, within the framework of the General Entertainment Authority’s concerts, to honor the symbols of the world. Muhammad Al-Muji, the grandson of the late musician, expressed, during a special statement to “An-Nahar”, his happiness at honoring his grandfather’s name in a large celebration organized by the General Authority for Entertainment, where he said: “Indeed, we were pleased with the authority’s keenness to honor the name of the late and its attempt to introduce young people to the symbols of the Arab world. Today, we and a large number of family members will participate in this party.”
About the scenes of the ceremony, the grandson of Al-Muji said: “The celebration was supposed to take place last March, but it was postponed due to the authority’s desire to hold it at a high level, and after the month of Ramadan. Officials contacted us to obtain some of the late’s belongings and his archive photos to be shown in a movie my record”.
Regarding the objection of some social media pioneers to honoring Egyptian artistic symbols outside the country, and that it is better for this to happen in their country, Egypt, he said: “I do not see any problem in honoring Egypt’s artistic symbols in any Arab country, and Al-Muji’s work is not exclusive to Egyptians only because His works and music are glorified by the whole world.
Al-Muji concluded by saying: “Through you, I would like to thank Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh and those in charge of the ceremony for their keenness and interest in honoring artistic icons, preserving the musical heritage, and introducing new generations to it, and whoever says that Egypt does not honor its symbols is mistaken, as honors and concerts are held for great musicians, at the Opera House continually and always honor their memory.
